The West Wight Mission Community – How are we Doing?

The West Wight Mission Community is intentional in Mission and Outreach, collaborative and supportive. It is enabling of peoples gifts and ministries and includes a variety of churches and styles. It establishes new expressions of church alongside the traditional and ensures a Christian presence, witness and care in every place. Not every parish can or should offer every aspect of the church’s life and ministry but by joining in partnership with neighbouring churches and forming a Mission Community we can work together more effectively.

Our team Rector the Revd. Jackie Maw has extended an invitation to all Churchwardens, PCC Members and Worship Leaders in the FYT Parishes to meet together at The Parish Hall, Victoria Road, Freshwater. (Next to the Rectory Chapel) on Thursday 14th October at 7.00pm. – See Below for details:

‘ It has been six months since I took up your invitation to become your Team Rector. Perhaps you’re not surprised to hear that I have more questions than answers although that is not to say I do not have thoughts and ideas about how we can work more closely and effectively together.

It is also important for me to hear your thoughts and ideas as well as your concerns about how we are doing. I ‘m very conscious that arriving in lockdown, getting to grips with the day to day business of the rural parishes and moving twice, means I’ve not yet had a chance to spend much time with the FYT parishes. However, I have valued sharing zoom morning prayer with some of you, which along with the blessing walks and Forest Church have helped to begin the process of getting to know you. The recent meeting, ‘Let’s talk about sutainable communities‘ brought even more of us together and I was able to meet some of you in person for the first time.

I do hope you are able to meet with me on 14th October so that together we can continue in the work of discerning what God is asking of us and getting on with it.

Please drop Julia an e-mail to confirm that you are able to join us, so that we can plan the evening effectively, in terms of seating / numbers.’

Grace + Peace
