This is an opportunity to read through the prayers offered to God on our behalf by Maurice Sheen at our Sunday morning service.

The prayers followed a reading from John Chapter 6 v.24 – 35.

Maurice’s prayers focussed on the following:

  • In praise of  God our creator.
  • Fellowship and Mission.
  • Our Mission Partners.
  • Our broken world and those who suffer.
  • For worldwide co-operation in tackling the Covid-19 pandemic in poorer countries.
  • For those known to us who need our prayers.

The prayers concluded with the words of St Richard of Chichester:-

“Thanks be to thee, my Lord Jesus Christ, for all the benefits thou hast given me, for all the pains and insults thou hast borne for me.

O most merciful redeemer, friend and brother, may I know thee more clearly, love thee more dearly, and follow thee more nearly, day by day. Amen.

Please feel free to use these prayers in their current form, to adapt them as you prefer, or to use them to frame your own prayers.
